June 25, 2012 - Ernst & Young announces Christopher J. O’Connor, President & CEO of Humanetics Innovative Solutions the Entrepreneur Of The Year® 2012 Award winner for Michigan & Northwest Ohio.




Award Recognizes Entrepreneurial Excellence in Manufacturing

Ernst & Young LLP today announced that Christopher J. O’Connor, President & CEO of Humanetics Innovative Solutions, the world’s leading provider of Anthropomorphic Test Devices (ATDs); commonly known as Crash Test Dummies, received the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year® 2012 Award in the Manufacturing category for Michigan & Northwest Ohio. The award recognizes outstanding entrepreneurs who demonstrate excellence and extraordinary success in such areas as innovation, financial performance and personal commitment to their businesses and communities. Chris was selected by an independent panel of judges, and the award was presented at a special gala on June 14, 2012 at the MGM Grand, Detroit.

Chris joined the Company in 2007 and quickly set out to consolidate worldwide operations, reduce costs and develop a strategy to help the company achieve strong growth. Following a profoundly strategic plan with precise tactical implementation, Chris was able to navigate this global Company through a series of initiatives that ultimately proved to have phenomenal results. No other company in the world designs, develops and services these advanced test products required for automobile, aerospace and military customers on a worldwide basis, to help measure and achieve the safest standards in the world.
The ultimate goal of Humanetics is to save lives and Chris strives to achieve that vision by encouraging his team of employees to understand and embrace the responsibility and social accountability that comes with their day-to-day accomplishments. In addition to his extremely demanding job, Chris continues to serve our country as a senior officer in the U.S. Army Reserves and has passionately expanded the presence of Humanetics’ safety products with the development of an advanced Blast Dummy for the enhancement of soldier safety within our armed services.
