Free Motion Head Form - 92041-001
Overview
A Hybrid III type dummy head launched from inside the vehicle traveling freely through the air so that its forehead strikes the selected target component (e.g. pillar, side rail or header). The head, referred to as a Free Motion Headform or FMH, is instrumented with accelerometers for measurement of head acceleration during the impact. These measurements are then used to calculate the specified injury criterion, HIC. These tests are required by 49 CFR Part 571.201 Occupant protection in interior impact.
Simulation Models
Humanetics offers highly detailed and fully validated Finite Element Models of its headforms in the codes LS-DYNA, PAM-CRASH, ABAQUS and RADIOSS, along with FE modeling consultancy services.
